The 11 Best Albums of 2009: 34-44 (Part 2)


With the end of decade sending everyone scrambling to make decade topping lists, let's not forget all the good music that made this year one of the better musical years of the decade.

  1. I don't know how people get enough time to listen to so many new albums in a year - not when there's so much old stuff to explore, too.

    Nevertheless, I'll give you my top 3:

    1. Sea Sew - Lisa Hannigan
    2. Dark Days/Light Years - Super Furry Animals
    3. The Eternal - Sonic Youth

    I can't really choose between 2 and 3, but I'm going with that order.

    13. My Maudlin Career- Camera Obscura

    I think those are the ones worth mentioning. Several albums disappointed me so they're not on the list cough Raditude =(

  3. I enjoyed a number of albums this year my top three would be:

    1.silversun pickups - swoon
    2.japandroids - post nothing
    3.metric - fantasies

    i wouldn't know how to rank the rest, so in alphabetical order...
    trail of dead - century of self
    cage the elephant - self titled
    cut off your hands - you and i
    dinosaur jr. - farm
    flyleaf - memento mori
    the fray - self titled
    modest mouse - no one's first and you're next
    paramore - brand new eyes
    placebo - battle for the sun
    say anything - self titled
    taking back Sunday - new again
    third eye blind - ursa major

    like Brendan said there were some disappointments, unfortunately the fun. album fell in there for me. i haven't even bothered listening to raditude based on a desire to not be let down.
