I don't know how people get enough time to listen to so many new albums in a year - not when there's so much old stuff to explore, too.

Nevertheless, I'll give you my top 3:

1. Sea Sew - Lisa Hannigan
2. Dark Days/Light Years - Super Furry Animals
3. The Eternal - Sonic Youth

I can't really choose between 2 and 3, but I'm going with that order.

This was tough
1. Merriweather Post Pavilion- Animal Collective
2. Bitte Orca- Dirty Projectors
3. Far- Regina Spektor
4. Veckatimest- Grizzly Bear
5. Eskimo Snow- Why?
6. Dragonslayer- Sunset Rubdown
7. Aim and Ignite- fun.
8. Hospice- The Antlers
9. Embryonic- The Flaming Lips
10. Actor- St. Vincent
11. The Hazards of Love- The Decemberists
12. My Weakness is Strong- Patton Oswalt
13. My Maudlin Career- Camera Obscura
14. Grand- Matt & Kim

I think those are the ones worth mentioning. Several albums disappointed me so they're not on the list cough Raditude =(

i wouldn't know how to rank the rest, so in alphabetical order...
trail of dead - century of self
cage the elephant - self titled

the fray - self titled
modest mouse - no one's first and you're next
