The 11 Best Foo Fighters Songs

After the Foo Fighters' last album, I decided to swear off the band. Not only was it an over-inflated ego-serving piece of forgettable music...they put a download safeguard on the CD so I couldn't load it onto my computer. I'm not surprised bands with no talent throw these CD safeguards on their albums since they will never make much money...but Dave Grohl has more money than most government lobbyists. Is he really that worried about losing a few hundred dollars to some starving fans who can't afford to go buy his album? Or did he realize the album was so bad, he knew no one would pay for the album once they found out how much it sucked? It's pretty much a toss-up which is the right answer.

This past week, the band released a live acoustic set of many of their hits and (in my opinion) misses. I tried to listen to it...but fell asleep. It's unfortunate that a once great band has fallen so far...but that doesn't mean they didn't have great material in their arsenal. So...

Here are The 11 Best Foo Fighters Songs:

1. I'll Stick Around (Foo Fighters) MP3
2. Learn To Fly (There Is Nothing Left To Lose)
3. Come Back (One By One)
4. Everlong (The Colour and the Shape)
5. New Way Home (The Colour and the Shape)
6. This Is A Call (Foo Fighters)
7. Low (One By One)
8. Headwires (There Is Nothing Left To Lose)
9. For All the Cows (Foo Fighters)
10. Halo (One By One)
11. Monkey Wrench (The Colour and the Shape)

PS. These are all album tracks, B-sides will follow tomorrow.

But when the album came out, he was giving an interview on KROQ in LA and a fan called in, asked about the copyright protection, and got a very defensive Grohl. Basically he said, times have changed and artists need to protect themselves anyway possible.

Dave Matthews is a corporate whore. He gets no love here.

This is the worst list I have ever seen. It's missing some really essential Foo songs (DOA, The Pretender, Best of You, My Hero, No Way Back). The top song on your list is also way off, especially considering you have Everlong at number 4. Everything you wrote prior to the list is also total garbage. The Foo Fighters are far from a "fallen" band, and in fact, their new albums are just as strong as their old ones. Learn how to use a computer more effectively, instead of spending time on it writing inaccurate lists, and maybe you wouldn't have to complain about copy protection.

MadTuff...if you noticed...this list was written in 2006 a couple years before The Pretender was even released. Why not try learning to read before making such wild criticisms?

And why not come up with something a bit more original than listing the radio hits that aren't on the list? Or even better...don't just say which songs should be there...why not try adding which songs "shouldn't" be on the list?

@madtuff. I'll stick around is one of THE BEST FF songs ever, my personal favourite, and best track on their 1st album. so get off the crack.

Is the "new album" he's referring to In Your Honor? Because that was arguably their best album.

Anyway, the Foo Fighters haven't had a single bad album. I don't think they've ever had a bad song, and I have every song. This list is terrible.

You're right Gaston. The Foo Fighters are "when of the best bands of the early 21st Century."

Thanks for that tip.

Jay, why don't you pay more attention to what you're reading? I purchased the double CD. I wanted to put it on my computer and ipod. I did not want to get it for free. As I recently purchased Wasting Light on CD. all that was 4 years ago and resolved...this is a post from 2007. Pay more attention.

arlandria got me into the foo fighters. (to be honest i never gave them much time before this) This song had so many changes and levels and the way he sings it - its MEANS something, it hurts and is wonderful. Now ive downloaded albums and B sides. some of us are just slow catching on. Enjoy all the funny comments btw. lol!
